Every bakery has its heart - and mine was a little poodle named Skye.
Skye came into my life back in 2008, a clumsy miniature poodle puppy with more energy than sense. From the start she was full of beans - spinning in circles for attention, tripping over her own feet, chasing the other poodles around like she ruled the garden.
In 2014, when I moved into my old pub with friends, Skye came too. From then on we were inseparable. She would wander downstairs after closing to visit the staff, go chip‑hunting around the bar (I even had to get her a bell like a cat), and show off whatever costume I’d put her in for themed nights. She was my shadow, my little partner in everything and her howl was the cutest sound you’ve ever heard.
Even in her later years, when she couldn’t see or hear very well, she always found her way back to me. Saying goodbye was heart‑breaking, but naming this small dog bakery after her felt right, a way to keep her joy baking on.
How Skye’s Treat Plot Began
Skye’s Treat Plot started as a simple idea for Barkington Spa - I was baking a few natural dog biscuits to show how easy and healthy homemade treats could be. Our dogs went absolutely wild for them, and I realised I had stumbled onto something special.
From there, the hobby grew into a full dog bakery. Every biscuit and bake is now made by hand in small batches using oat flour, fruit and vegetables, without any additives or preservatives, just wholesome ingredients dogs love.
Whether it’s a bag of crunchy biscuits, a pick ’n’ mix of training treats, or a custom birthday cake, each one carries a little of Skye’s playful spirit and love of a good snack.

Handmade on the Staffordshire / Cheshire Border
Skye’s Treat Plot is based in Mow Cop, right on the Staffordshire and Cheshire border. I bake and package everything myself at home, supplying local markets, independent stockists and online customers across the UK.
Every time a dog enjoys one of Skye’s treats, it feels like she’s still right here, tail wagging, eyes bright, ready for another biscuit.

Simplicity – All recipes start with a short, honest ingredient list: oat flour, fruits, vegetables, and nothing artificial.
Transparency – Every flavour, ingredient, and process is shared openly so you always know exactly what your dog’s eating.
Quality & Care – From hand‑grinding oat flour to hand‑cutting biscuits, every stage happens right here in my home kitchen in Mow Cop, Staffordshire.
Sustainability – I use minimal, recyclable packaging and plan to grow more of my own fruit and vegetables for future recipes - the “Plot” part of Skye’s Treat Plot.
Community – You’ll find me most weekends at local Staffordshire and Cheshire markets, talking dogs, swapping stories and sharing treats face‑to‑face.
Because when something’s made with real care, it shows - in the smell, the crunch, the happy tail wags, and the tiny crumbs left on the floor. That’s what Skye’s Treat Plot is all about: honest bakes, happy dogs, and keeping Skye’s spirit alive one treat at a time!
