About Maddy & Skye

Skye came into our lives as a clumsy little miniature poodle puppy back in 2008. From the start, she was full of beans – always tripping over her own feet, spinning in circles for attention, or chasing the other poodles around like she was the queen of the garden. In 2014, when I moved into my old pub with some close friends, Skye came with me. From then on, we were inseparable. She'd trot downstairs after closing to visit the staff, go chip-hunting in the bar (I had to get her a bell like a cat), and proudly show off whatever costume I'd put her in for themed nights. She was my little shadow with the cutest howl you've ever heard. Even in her later years, when she slowed down and couldn’t see or hear much, she always found her way to me.

 

Skye was my whole world, and when we had to say goodbye, it broke me. Naming this treat range after her just felt right. It all started with a fun little content idea for Barkington Spa – baking some simple, natural biscuits to show people how easy and affordable homemade treats could be. But our dogs went wild for them, and I realised this could be something special. Now I make them properly, by hand, right here at the spa. Skye’s Treat Plot is my way of sharing a bit of her joy, her mischief, and her love of a good snack with every dog who visits.
